Frequently Asked Questions about
Multiplay
Q: What is
Multiplay made of?
A: Multiplay is a suspended polypropylene flooring system.
Polypropylene is a plastic resin very similar to polyurethane, the finishing surface of a
wood floor, so the traction and surface appearance is similar to that of a hardwood floor.
Q. Does the ball
bounce differently on a suspended polypropylene floor?
A: Every type of flooring surface has a different sound and ball response
from every other. Wood will provide one type of ball response, poured urethane
another and polypropylene another yet. Still, the ball response is very similar to
that of a hardwood flooring system.
Q: Are there a lot of polypropylene floors being used?
A: Yes, there are literally hundreds of polypropylene floors being sold
annually for facilities such as schools, churches, tennis clubs, fitness centers, and home
owners. We have many references that you can contact if you would like to hear
other's experiences with their polypropylene floors.
Q: What is the life span of Multiplay?
A: We give Multiplay a ten year warranty, but testing has been done that
gives the lifespan at least a 30 year rating.
Q: Why would you buy a gridded surface as opposed to a smooth surface?
A: Gridded surfaces are perfect for areas where water run-off is needed,
such as outdoors or around a pool. Indoors, you will occasionally get scuff marks on
the solid surface tiles, from players pivoting in colored shoes. The gridded tiles
totally eliminate this situation, while still providing the same ball response and
traction.
Q: What is the advantage of Multiplay over hardwood flooring?
A: Hardwood flooring is extremely susceptible to water damage. If you
are in an area where you have had water damage to a floor in the past or can envision that
it might happen in the future, the expense to repair a wood floor is extremely high and
labor-intensive. Multiplay is impervious to water damage and, even should some tiles
become damaged for some reason, repair is quickly and easily done.
Q: What is
the average delivery time for Multiplay?
A: For standard colors, we aim for no more than four weeks from the date of
order to delivery. For custom colors, to ensure an exact match, the time frame is
more like 6-8 weeks from the time the color sample is approved by you.
